The day draws to a stirring end as we find ourselves out in some farm country. There is a wonderful amount of geology to be had, and for myself having focused greatly on glacial geology I have found Marks' tour of this land to be wonderful. It is well encompassing in both the accessibility to a novice, and yet the tour gains a fair amount of challenge as we find ourselves asking some rather hard questions in terms of processies. We have been learning quickly the art of obersavation and telling the "geologist story" of the observation; like why are there so many fossilized shells here, or why is the rock all banded in color? These key questions are iterated many times over because they serve the grand function of learning about the multi million year old past, using the obersvations seen today!
So thus far this geology student is rather happy to report that the geo-tour is a great success, with much more still to see/explore.
